Abu’l-Qasim’s treatise on the manufacture of tiles and other ceramic objects is part of a larger work by the same author, exists in two manuscripts, dated 700/1301 and 991/1583 respectively.

I decided to try and recreate fritpaste from the recipe given. The objects I created from the paste were white and durable. I can see where this material would have definitely been used to rival Chinese Porcelain. Fritware Paste Experiment PDF
