CERAMICS (POTTERY)

We find pieces of pottery today displayed in museums that were created thousands of years ago. Pottery stands the test of time and tells the story of how our ancestors lived. It is a special material and if you have ever experienced making a bowl or cup on the wheel, feeling the clay in your hands, you feel a connection to earth. Something primordial connecting us to our past. But also to our future. Ceramic material and technology is used today on the tiles of the space shuttle, dental implants, in nuclear reactors, fuel cells, and solar energy systems. It touches every part of our modern lives. It is truly and amazing material!

As an award winning, exhibiting artist I create unique and thoughtful works of ceramic art and sculpture. I do not mass produce my work for sale. However, I will on occasion take commissions. In today’s world of mass produced ceramics people take for granted the incredible amount of time and effort that goes into creating one piece of handcrafted pottery. So I find it is cost prohibitive for most people. However, if you truly desire something interesting, unique, handcrafted and do not have a hard deadline, we can talk.
